The Missouri Tigers are the official mascot of the athletic teams at the University of Missouri–Columbia. UMC athletics date back to the middle of the 19th century. The Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams are notorious for failing when given national media recognition, usually in the form of a poll ranking.
